Love is a convoluted and illogical concept, in the sense that it is conceivable for two people to form a connection just due to the fact that they share a preference for the same song.
One time, when this particular number was played, I remember... I sat up and almost instantaneously became aware that there was another person in that room who had showed the same kind of reaction that I did.
I can still vividly recall the moment when our eyes met; we shared a sense of appreciation and a sense that there is someone who is just like me... Isn't it a beautiful thing?
I remember the bus rides on the lonely island with just a Walkman and a CD with this number among others like Nights in White Satin, Pink Floyd. We had day passes for endless bus rides; we had the sun playing hide-and-seek with the tropical rain clouds; we had the pristine beaches; we had the ocean in a rainy mood; we had the music; and we had each other.
Hmm, Raindrops keep falling on my head
Raindrops keep falling on my head… And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed, nothing seems to fit. Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling.
So I just did me some talking to the sun. And I said I didn’t like the way, he got things done… sleeping on the job… those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling.
But there’s one thing I know: The blues they send to meet me won’t defeat me. It won’t be long till happiness steps up to greet me.
Raindrops keep falling on my head, but that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red. Crying’s not for me, cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining. Because I’m free. Nothing’s worrying me.
